Kaleb Cooper has announced he’ll soon be ditching the day-to-day farming duties of Chipping Norton to be “taken out of his comfort zone” in a new show Down Under.

The Clarkson’s Farm star has announced he’ll be heading to Australia to film an all-new series for Amazon Prime Video, now that season five of the Jeremy Clarkson-led show has concluded.

Announcing the exciting news on Instagram, Mr Cooper penned to his three million followers: “I’ve got some news!

“I’m going to be going down under/to Australia to film my very own series on Prime Video.”

Admitting it won’t come easy, the young farmer added: “You know how hard it is for me to leave Chippy so flying to Australia is definitely taking me out of my comfort zone.

“But I’m on a mission to see if I can make my farming contracting business go international.”

He signed off: “But first I’ve got to get through the flight!!! Don’t fear though my chippy friends, I will be back. @primevideouk @dragonflyfilmtv.” (sic)

Inevitably, it didn’t take long for Mr Cooper’s fans to flock to the comments to congratulate the farmer-turned-reality TV star on the project, including a certain Mr Clarkson.

Spotting the chance to poke fun at his co-star, Mr Clarkson wrote: “I’m so happy about this. Because finally I can run my farm without him mucking everything up.”

The former Top Gear star’s remark was soon flooded with likes and comments from eagle-eyed fans who spotted it, but he wasn’t the only Clarkson’s Farm star to show their support.

Diddly Squat newcomer and Mr Cooper’s temporary replacement in season four of the show, Harriet Cowan, also typed: “Congrats!!!!”

Meanwhile, Mr Cooper’s fiancée, Taya, also had some heartwarming words of support for her other half.

“Peace and quiet for me,” she quipped. “Gonna miss you really… so proud of you for doing something way out your comfort zone! Can’t wait to hear all about it!”

Elsewhere, Love Island’s Jessie Wynter applauded: “How exciting!! Can’t wait to see what you think of the Aussie farms! Congrats Kaleb!”

And comedian Paul Smith was also among those wishing Mr Cooper well, writing: “Congratulations mate!” (sic)

The new work project for Mr Cooper comes at a time when his work diary seems to have opened up after Mr Clarkson confirmed that the recently wrapped fifth season of Clarkson’s Farm would be the last for a while.

Writing in his latest column in The Sun, Mr Clarkson confirmed he and the crew would be taking a break from filming for the foreseeable future.

After opening up about the disastrous last 12 months on the farm, he wrote: “It’s likely that the brilliant guys who edit our show will find some nuggets of humour in the mix and that there’ll be some laughs in season five.

“And in the relentless sunshine, the Cotswolds did look fantastic. But at the coalface, it was knackering.

“Are we carrying on? Well, we’ve sent the cameras away to give us a break from that side of things for a while.

“But yup. Kaleb’s out there now in his tractor, and after I’ve finished writing this, I’ll be joining him. The show goes on.”
