Heavy metal star Ozzy Osbourne has died aged 76, just weeks after reuniting with his Black Sabbath bandmates.
The Rockstar reunited with his bandmates just a few weeks ago, performing a farewell concert for fans, alongside some of his favourite bands.
In a statement, his family said: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.
“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
The statement is signed by his wife, Sharon, and children, Aimee, Kelly, Jack and Louis.
Less than three weeks ago singer performed from a throne on stage at Villa Park, Osbourne told fans: “You’ve no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
It was a gig put together with performances from some of his favourite acts, including Guns’n’Roses and Metallica, for the 76-year-old’s “final bow”.
Osbourne was a music legend who rose to prominence as the founding member and lead singer of band Black Sabbath in 1968.
The band pioneered the heavy metal genre of, producing iconic tracks like Paranoid and Iron Man.
He left Black Sabbath in 1979 due to rising tensions with his bandmates, and embarked on a solo music career, releasing more than a dozen albums.
His debut single, released in 1980, Crazy Train, is one of his most famous songs to date.
The singer, who sold over 100 million records, was one of the most respected names in rock music.
David Coverdale, the lead singer of the rock band Whitesnake, took to X to pay his respects to the rock legend.
“My Sincere Condolences To Sharon, The Family, Friends & Fans,” he wrote.
X-Factor duo Jedward, said: “Rip Ozzy Osbourne sending love to Sharon and Kelly and Jack and the whole family “.
Tributes from adorning fans also poured in as the news broke. One fan penned: “A rockstar. A legend. A British icon. Rest in Power, Ozzy Osbourne.”
Another: “Rest in Peace Ozzy Osbourne! We wouldn’t have Heavy Metal without you.”
