Harriet Cowan, 24, has fuelled further rumours that a return to Clarkson’s Farm could be on the cards following her successful introduction in season four.
The young farmhand and nurse joined the Amazon hit series to help out Jeremy Clarkson, 65, on his Oxfordshire farm while his farm manager, Kaleb Cooper, headed off on a nationwide stage tour.
Cowan proved an invaluable asset for Clarkson and the Diddly Squat team, capably filling in for Cooper on the farm when it came to all manner of farming duties, and even lending some beauty tips to Clarkson.
Therefore, when she abruptly packed her bags and headed back to Derbyshire upon Cooper’s return to the farm, Clarkson’s Farm fans were understandably disappointed.
Cowan did make a brief return later in the series to help Clarkson out at a cattle auction, but the cameo did little to satisfy fans who’d become endeared to the young farmer.
Filming for the fifth run of Clarkson’s Farm remains ongoing, albeit with its fair share of disruptions, but since the fourth run aired, both Cowan and Clarkson have poured cold water over calls for her to return.
However, in a new interview this weekend, Cowan has refused to rule out the possibility. “I’ve always said I’ll be very open if Jeremy needs me again,” Cowan told the Sunday Times’s Style Magazine.
“We’ve sort of left it like that. If he needs me, I’m here.”
Clarkson may well need the extra pair of hands given the tumultuous time he’s battling with on the farm.
Speaking at the Hawkstone VIP Summer Party last week, he told GB News and other attendees: “I’d like to apologise first of all for my slightly dishevelled state. We began the harvest over at Diddly Squat this very morning, and set off about 8:30am, Kaleb (for) the first time ever with his new combine doing the combining!
“8:45am, his combine broke down. Got the combine mended and then – and this is true – for the first time in four months, it rained. So that soaked all the oats that we were supposed to be harvesting.
“So I’ve rushed over here and he sends his apologies, but he’s sitting waiting for the moisture levels to drop so that he can get cracking because we know that we’re on for a shocking harvest this year.

“I mean, if there are any farmers here, they’d tell you the same thing. Last year, it was the second worst recorded ever, and we think this year is going to be even worse because it just hasn’t rained.”
Clarkson stopped short of revealing if he’d had to call on Cowan yet again. However, judging by the young farmer’s social media pages, she’s been busy with her own duties at her Derbyshire farm.
Whether or not she ever finds her way back to Diddly Squat, Cowan had nothing but fond words for Clarkson when reflecting on her skyrocketing to stardom.
“Charlie [Ireland, Clarkson’s land agent] let me know they were looking for someone to come and help,” she told the publication. “I think they were keen for it to be a woman who could do that role and show they could do it well.”
Reminiscing on her initial reaction, she admitted she wasn’t overly familiar with Clarkson’s work, although she described him as “very much like every other farmer I’ve ever met”.
She praised him further: “(He’s) very much willing to learn. He wanted to do well by the farm (and) he’s got the physique of a farmer.”
