Simon Cowell has stunned fans and sparked debate over his “unrecognisable looks” in a promotional video filmed prior to this past weekend’s Britain’s Got Talent final.
In the short clip, the 65-year-old music mogul smiled at the camera and said: “We’re live from Hammersmith, it’s minutes before the final, I am really excited. I haven’t got a clue who is going to win but that’s a good thing.
“Thanks for watching everyone.”
But instead of the final itself, viewers were fixated on Cowell’s appearance, with some claiming he looked like “an AI version of Simon Cowell” before comments were eventually turned off, preventing further speculation.
However, conversation around the presenter’s appearance continued to swirl on X. One viewer wrote, “That looked AI CGI to me,” while another simply added, “Very creepy.”
A third user speculated the star had undergone “plastic surgery” and taken “Ozempic,” while a fourth claimed: “That is NOT ‘the real’ Simon Cowell, no way. Clone.”
Others offered their own theories, with one blaming a “bad plastic surgeon” and another suggesting his altered look could be linked to injuries sustained in a “severe bicycle crash.”
Cowell has previously suffered injuries in two separate e-bike accidents, the first in August 2020, which required a lengthy recovery, and another in February 2022.

This isn’t the first time Cowell’s appearance has sparked speculation.
In 2023, a video posted by the star drew similar reactions, with fans claiming he had gone overboard with the Botox and plastic surgery.
The former X Factor judge was among the first male TV personalities to openly admit to using Botox and fillers, though he maintains he has never undergone plastic surgery.
Addressing speculation about going under the knife, the father-of-one said last year: “I think it’s hysterical. I mean it just makes me laugh — I haven’t had a facelift or anything. I have had a bit of Botox, but kind of nothing drastic.
“So when I hear about this stuff, honestly, it does make me laugh.”
In 2018, Cowell revealed he had undergone a £2,000 cosmetic procedure known as a Silhouette Soft Lift- often described as a modern facelift- which involves threading bioplastic-infused material into the face and neck to lift sagging skin.
However, the music mogul insists he no longer uses fillers after an incident where Botox left him looking “like something out of a horror film”.
He said: ‘There was a stage where I might have gone a bit too far. I saw a picture of me from ‘before’ the other day and didn’t recognize it as me, first of all. Eric [Simon’s son] was in hysterics.
Cowell now attributes his current appearance to lifestyle changes.
“There was a phase where everyone was having their faces pumped full of this and the other,” he said.
“But actually, for me now, a lot of it comes down to healthy eating and drinking tons of water.”
