BBC Radio 1 presenter Vick Hope has announced she is expecting her first child with husband Calvin Harris.
The 35-year-old revealed the news live on air during her drivetime show, which she co-hosts with Katie Thistleton and Jamie Laing. The couple, who typically maintain a private relationship, have decided to share their happy news with listeners as Hope prepares to begin her maternity leave.
The announcement comes after weeks of speculation, with fans noticing Hope’s baby bump at recent public appearances and spotting hints on social media, including photos from what appeared to be a baby shower.
Speaking on Radio 1 yesterday, Hope told listeners: “I should probably also say this is my final week before I go on maternity leave.”
Her co-host Jamie Laing responded with warm words of support, saying: “You’re an amazing friend, an amazing person, and you’re just going to be an amazing mum,” leaving the presenter to reply: “Oh, thank you.”
The presenter, who recently joined Countryfile, has been cleverly concealing her growing bump at various engagements in recent months, including at the BRIT Awards in March, where she wore a figure-hugging brown silk dress with strategic cut-outs.

Hope explained her decision not to make a formal pregnancy announcement earlier, telling Laing: “This is not an announcement, by the way. People keep saying ‘Are you going to announce, are you going to announce?’ And I’m like, ‘I’m not the King’.
“I do not see the point, it’s not for me. I’ll be honest, I struggle with anything that’s personal or private. I will tell you a story about eating a kebab out of a bin, that’s one thing.
“But there’s a line, and so I’ve never been that big on sharing. Particularly because I’ve just been enjoying this privately and quietly.”
A few weeks ago, Hope appeared to celebrate her baby shower, sharing a picture on social media of herself playing a baby shower game during a meal with friends.
Hope and Harris’ relationship began in 2022, with the couple making their first public appearance at the Chelsea Flower Show in May that year.
Their romance has an interesting backstory, with Hope revealing to You Magazine that Harris had asked her out years earlier, in 2007, but she rejected him and noted: “It’s something that we laughed about on our first proper date… We still laugh about it now.”
Harris proposed on his Ibiza farm just five months into their relationship, reportedly spending £1million on her engagement ring. The couple tied the knot in September 2023 at Hulne Priory in Alnwick, Northumberland.
The couple have established solid foundations for family life with impressive properties on both the Spanish island of Ibiza and in the English countryside. Harris owns a stunning 138-acre organic farm in Ibiza, known as Terra Masia, which produces fruit, vegetables, eggs and wine.
“Calvin employs an expert team, including farmers and chefs, but he’s also hands-on, regularly getting involved in planting and other farm activities. He’s truly passionate about the project,” a source told The Sun.
They also have a 10-acre estate in the Cotswolds, purchased for £3.6million in 2019, where a bespoke mansion designed by royal architect Ben Pentreath is being completed this year.
The couple’s wedding was inspired by Glastonbury Festival, featuring food stands and teepees throughout the grounds. Celebrity guests included AJ Odudu, Vernon Kay and Scott Mills, with live performances from Nile Rodgers and Chic and a spectacular fireworks display.
Despite their high-profile status, Hope and Harris have largely kept their relationship out of the spotlight, making rare public appearances together. They were spotted looking loved-up at the BRIT Awards in March, where Hope’s carefully styled outfit concealed her pregnancy.
During a recent meeting with Prince William in Somerset, Hope’s bump was more noticeable as she chatted with the royal about her new Countryfile presenting role.
