Strictly Come Dancing returned tonight for its first live show of the series, and as always, all eyes were on presenters Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly as they welcomed fans to a new series.
The two remained as glamorous as ever as they stepped onto the dancefloor sidelines for the first time this year.
Ms Winkleman, 53, sported a dazzling silk shirt with a black tie and black trousers, while Ms Daly, 56, had opted for a an off-the-shoulder blue and black dress.
As show staples, the duo got many talking online, but they also sparked some division.
Some were puzzled by the striking looks, with one joking on X: “Tess dressed like a blue sweet from the Quality Street tin #Strictly.”
Another asked: “WTF ARE THEY WEARING????? #Strictly,” with a third sharing: “Tess.. That dress is a choice #Strictly.”
Another critic added: “One of these days the BBC wardrobe department will dress Claudia and Tess in clothes which fit and flatter them. #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing.”
Someone else agreed: “WOW the first live show of the series and bad wardrobe started early. Looks like bottom half of Tess dress been stuck to her top half and think Claudia forgot her jacket #StrictlyComeDancing #Strictly.”
“Tess, in the name of all things holy, sack your stylist,” someone else penned.
However, there were plenty of positive comments regarding the hosts, with one fan writing: “Love Claudia’s outfit.”
“Tess Daly looks amazing #Strictly,” another posted.
While the first week has just started, the show has already faced some unexpected hurdles.
Last week, fans were introduced to all the dance couples during the launch show.
Strictly professional Nikita Kuzmin had been paired with Love Island star Dani Dyer, and the two were early favourites.
However, just days ago Ms Dyer shared that she’d had to pull out of the show after injuring her ankle during training.
The incident crushed her fans, while Mr Kuzmin’s future on the series was uncertain for a while.
However, it was revealed on Thursday that fellow Love Island star Amber Davies had stepped in to replace Ms Dyer at the last minute.
Ms Davies, who claimed victory on the ITV dating show in 2017 alongside Kem Cetinay, has since established herself in musical theatre with leading roles in productions such as Pretty Woman, 9 to 5: The Musical, and The Great Gatsby. She has also appeared in the CBBC programme Almost Never.
On joining the BBC competition, Ms Davies stated: “This has been the craziest 24 hours of my life.
