Gogglebox star Amy Tapper shares drastic transformation as she issues plea over weight loss injection

Former Gogglebox personality Amy Tapper has disclosed a remarkable physical transformation, having shed seven and a half stone through the use of Mounjaro weight loss injections over the past twelve months.

The 25-year-old discussed her journey during an interview on Thursday, where she detailed the dramatic changes she has experienced.

Ms Tapper, who departed from the Channel 4 programme in 2017 alongside her family members, has struggled with weight management since her early years.

During an appearance on Good Morning Britain, she described experiencing repeated cycles of weight reduction followed by regaining the lost pounds.

The television personality credited the injectable medication with bringing her a sense of “peace” that had previously eluded her throughout her life.

Her transformation has seen her progress from a size 26 to size 18, representing a significant change in her physical appearance and health.

The reality television personality has adopted a protein-rich diet featuring fresh foods as part of her new lifestyle.

Due to the medication’s effect on satiety, she typically consumes either lunch or dinner rather than both meals.

Ms Tapper revealed her intention to maintain the treatment regime for the foreseeable future, viewing it as a long-term solution rather than a temporary measure.

Her approach combines the pharmaceutical intervention with dietary modifications, creating a comprehensive strategy for sustained weight management that has broken her previous pattern of fluctuating weight loss and gain.

During her television appearance, she advocated for improved accessibility of weight loss medications through the National Health Service for individuals who require them.

“People think it suppresses your appetite, which it does, but it does so many other things,” she explained to ITV presenter Kate Garraway.

The former reality star expressed her belief that such treatments should be more readily obtainable for patients in need, issuing a plea to the NHS: “I think it needs to be much more available to people that need it on the NHS.”

Her comments highlight ongoing debates about healthcare provision and access to newer pharmaceutical interventions for weight management, particularly as these medications demonstrate broader health benefits beyond their primary appetite-suppressing properties.

Ms Tapper’s weight management journey mirrors that of her father Jonathan, who successfully reduced his weight by three stone in 2019 following a Type 2 diabetes diagnosis.

Jonathan decreased from 21 stone three pounds to 18 stone eight pounds through a combination of high-intensity exercise and calorie-controlled prepared meals, reducing his waist measurement from 44 to 38 inches.

The Tapper family featured on Gogglebox until 2017, with Amy appearing alongside her brother Josh and parents Nikki and Jonathan.

Their departure came after several years of entertaining viewers with their commentary on television programmes.
