Vicky Pattison involved in car accident just 24 hours before BBC Strictly launch as she delivers worrying update

Vicky Pattison has assured fans she’s okay ahead of her Strictly Come Dancing debut after revealing she was involved in a car accident.

The 37-year-old reality TV star, whose pro partner for the series will be revealed in tomorrow’s launch show, shared a snap on Instagram in which she shared the news that her car had been “pushed off the road” by a lorry.

Ms Pattison held her head in her hand in the update, as well as including a snap of the lorry that was supposedly involved in the incident.

“Never a dull moment,” the Geordie Shore star and I’m A Celebrity winner began in the accompanying caption.

“A lorry just swerved into my car on the M25 and pushed us off the road,” she added, alongside a face-palm emoji.

“No one is hurt and the traffic officers are here but crikey,” Ms Pattison conceded.

She signed off: “It was a bit intense. Wear your seatbelts kids,” followed by a love heart emoji.

Tomorrow’s launch show has already been filmed, so luckily Pattison won’t be meeting her pro partner for the first time 24 hours after the accident.

The identity of her pro remains a mystery for now, but speaking to GB News at the show’s press day earlier this month, she had nothing but kind words for them.

“I think they’ve nailed it,” Ms Pattison said of the show bosses’ decision to pair her up with the pro they opted for.

“I’m nervous. I can be neurotic, like a little coiled spring, and my partner is calm and measured. I’m a mess.”

However, training has been far from plain sailing. Ms Pattison has been open and honest over the past few days about the challenges she’s struggling with in the rehearsal room.

Speaking to The Sun, the former I’m A Celeb campmate confessed: “I’d take kangaroo balls over glitter balls any day. I’m really done in.

“I’m not a dancer or an athlete at all. I’m struggling with that.

“But, more than anything, the nerves are just getting the better of me already.

“I’m getting frustrated and finding it hard to pick it up. I’m worried about being rubbish, going out first and falling over.”

Fans will have to wait until next Saturday’s first live show to see how Ms Pattison and her pro get on in their first routine of the year.

But if bookmakers’ odds are anything to go by, it appears the Heart Radio presenter has a good chance of making it far in the competition.

Ahead of next weekend’s first elimination of the series, Ms Pattison is a rank outsider at 7/1 for the first boot of the year, according to Gambling.com.

This puts her alongside fellow frontrunners for the Glitterball Trophy, including Lewis Cope (12/1), Ellie Goldstein (10/1), Dani Dyer (9/1), and George Clarke (8/1).

Sadly for entertainment reporter Ross King, the odds aren’t looking good for him to make it past the first hurdle.

Mr King is priced as the favourite for the axe at 11/8 after the first public vote of the series.

Chris Robshaw and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink could also be in line for the chop in Week One with odds of 15/8 and 2/1, respectively.

Stefan Dennis, Thomas Skinner, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, La Voix, Karen Carney, Balvinder Sopal, and Alex Kingston should make it through to Week Two if bookmakers’ hunches are correct.
