David Beckham fans rage at Rebecca Loos over ‘stupid’ Celebrity SAS appearance: ‘No need to do this!’

Rebecca Loos has encountered significant viewer criticism following her appearance on Channel 4’s Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, where she discussed her alleged relationship with David Beckham from two decades ago.

The 48-year-old former personal assistant, who made headlines in 2004 after claiming she had an affair with the footballer, returned to television screens on Sunday evening after a 16-year absence from British programming.

Social media erupted with complaints about her participation in the survival reality series. Multiple viewers expressed frustration that she continues to reference the scandal from 2003.

During the programme’s Mirror Room segment, Loos told instructors Jason Fox and Chris Oliver: “It felt unjust that my life was pretty hell and his life kept going and kept blossoming.”

Fans of the show took to X to voice their displeasure at the extensive coverage given to Loos during the episode.

One viewer wrote: “Why the hell has Rebecca Loos been allowed to drag up all that c**p about DB again???? There is no need to do this all again on @SAS_WDW #SASWhoDaresWins.”

Another social media user questioned whether the programme was focusing too heavily on her story: “There’s no way this girl & Rebecca Loos’ notoriety makes them celebs. Plus Rebecca getting so much screen time felt salacious.”

Several viewers noted that Loos had referenced Beckham multiple times within minutes of appearing on screen.

One frustrated viewer posted: “Rebecca Loos been on 5 mins and already mentioned Beckham twice.”

The criticism extended to questioning Loos’s celebrity credentials and her motivations for participating in the programme.

One X user commented: “Rebecca Loos pity party and acting as though the publicity was something done to her.

“She appeared on several ‘celeb’ shows and built a career on the story of the affair…and is doing so again.”

Another viewer suggested she should have maintained a lower profile, writing: “Am i the only one thats not thought about rebecca loos in some 15yrs??

“What’s she on a tv show for whilst complaining about media treatment. keep [a] low profile surely.”

Multiple social media users accused her of continuing to profit from the 2003 scandal.

One particularly harsh comment stated: “S****ed him 25 yrs ago and still banging on and making money off it.”

Someone else wrote: “Rebecca Loos: Why did I become the villain while David Beckham’s life wasn’t destroyed? Stupid girl, maybe because he actually had a career and talent people loved him for #SASWhoDaresWins.”

Despite the backlash, Loos has defended her decision to join the programme. Speaking to Closer magazine, she acknowledged having developed “a big issue trusting” as a result of her past experiences.

She praised the production team’s approach to the series, stating: “Celeb SAS was a great show for me to come back on because it’s quite serious.

“And the production company have been absolutely fantastic – what they’ve said the show is going to be and what they said they’re going to do, they’ve done.”
