GB News is in the running for several accolades at tonight’s TRIC Awards, with the channel’s biggest stars stepping out onto the blue carpet to mark the occasion.
GB News Breakfast has been nominated for Best News Programme, while national reporter Charlie Peters has been shortlisted for Best News Presenter.
The GB News Breakfast team, made up of Eamonn Holmes, Stephen Dixon, Anne Diamond and Ellie Costello, is up against 11 other competitors including BBC Breakfast, Channel 4 News and Good Morning Britain.
Meanwhile, National Reporter Charlie Peters has been shortlisted for best News Presenter following his critical investigation into the grooming gangs scandal across Britain.
His reporting has led to the Government’s announcement of plans for a national review into grooming gangs, as well as five Government-supported local inquiries across the country.
Also attending the event are GB News presenters Miriam Cates, Bev Turner and Ben Leo.
GB News enjoyed a successful night at the 2024 TRIC Awards, picking up a number of accolades.
Nigel Farage won the TRIC Award for Best News Presenter for the second year in a row, as he declared GB News “is here to stay”.
Camilla Tominey won Interview of the Year for her chat with Alastair Stewart where he bravely shared his dementia diagnosis.
GB News Breakfast also emerged victorious at the 2024 award show in the Best News Show category.
This year’s Tric Awards are being held at the elegant Grosvenor House in London, with some of the biggest names in radio and television hoping to walk away with a win.
Among the nominees across several categories, long-running soaps like Emmerdale, Coronation Street, EastEnders, and Casualty will go head-to-head, while radio favourites including Simon Mayo, Ally McCoist, Vernon Kay, and Jordan North also vie for top honours.
