Dominic Chinea advised ‘slow down and breathe’ as BBC The Repair Shop star sparks concern with recent update

Dominic Chinea has sparked concern after appearing “frazzled” in a YouTube video in which he chatted to fans.

The Repair Shop star Chinea, 39, was advised by fans in the comments to “slow down” and “get someone in to help” as he talked about his draining work load.

Taking to his YouTube channel, the craftsman attempted to film a “Mukbang,” a trend in which content creators eat while sharing updates with followers.

“Welcome to a slightly unconventional video,” he began as he sat down at a table, adding: “It’s been a long day. It’s been a long week, but I didn’t want to let you down.”

He added: “I wanted to make sure that get a video every Sunday.

“So, I’m in my depressing hotel room somewhere in Whitby, near Whitby, filming Repair Shop on the road and actually having a really good time.

“But it has been a busy time. For the last week, I’ve been up here filming with a new team, some of which are very young, and have reminded me how old I actually am.

“So apparently there’s a trend, or was a trend or is trend on the internet called a Mukbang.

“This is maybe my attempt at a poor man’s Mukbang. I’ve got a glass of rose from the Co-op down the road.

“I’ve got some chocolate because apparently this makes it a Mukbang, you need to eat something.

“And most importantly, I’m going to answer your questions.” He went on to answer some of the questions sent in by fans, but many were distracted by his remarks about having a hectic schedule, while some thought he appeared to be tired.

Taking to the comments, many urged the Repair Shop star to look after himself. One penned: “Dom! You look frazzled and tired, please don’t burn yourself out.

“Slow down, breathe, prioritise and stop worrying about a new video every week., everyone on here wouldn’t mind if you missed the odd week..”

“Dom we appreciate you and all your hard work. It’s okay if you miss a video here and there, no one will think less of you,” a second assured him.

Someone else shared: “You’re burning the candle at both ends Dom. Take care of yourself.”

In a lengthy message, another concerned fan wrote: “Everyone here loves what you do, and I am sure we all say SLOW DOWN.

“That and be careful what you try to do, get someone to help you PA is a brilliant idea. That would reduce some of the stress, and you may find they can advise on maybe getting others involved, to help you!

“All this is meant to aide you, you need help, and so many of us would like to help.

“The problem is where you live is a long way from where a lot of us live. Or, we have problems travelling.

“I’d drop everything I do just to give you a hand, but I’m 70, don’t drive anymore, and have health problems, like most people my age! I support you 100%, If I could I would, maybe sometime I could help with a simple task. Thanks again, get a PA! and some more local help maybe!!!!”
