Gemma Collins, 44, blasts ‘thin people’ using fat jabs: ‘It’s not what it’s for!’

Gemma Collins has slammed slim people who use weight-loss injections despite not medically qualifying for them.

The TV personality, who is currently on her own weight loss journey using Mounjaro, has spoken out against those she believes misuse the medication.

Although she is benefiting from the treatment herself, Collins expressed frustration over people using the drug when they don’t genuinely “need” it.

She said: “I really don’t agree with already slim people taking it, that’s just not right at all, and it’s not what it’s for.

“It’s for overweight people and it breaks my heart when there’s people on the NHS who can’t access it and it’s such a shame because everyone deserves not to struggle with their weight and you would only understand if you had a weight problem and how difficult it is. I know how it is.”

Collins shared that she has already seen a significant transformation, going from a size 26 to a size 20, and is still committed to reaching her goals.

The Diva Forever star credited Mounjaro for giving her a major confidence lift, saying: “I’ve gone from a size 26 to a size 20, and I’ve never felt better.

“Mounjaro is unbelievable and it’s changed my whole life. I think it’s a life-changing drug,” she told The Mirror.

She added: “Being able to pick up a size 20 top in M&S, put it on in the changing rooms and just get on with my day, is just such a life-changing experience for me honestly.”

Encouraging others who are struggling, Collins told them not to worry and just “do it”.

“You can’t just buy them backstreet – there’s so many people selling them dangerously and on the backstreet market.

“You have to go with a proper company and it will seriously change your life. It has been the biggest success for me. I have so much energy.”

She emphasised that her focus is not on being thin, but on feeling healthier: “I just feel good and I’m not obsessed with looking too thin. I don’t need to prove anything to anyone, I know myself that I’m losing the weight and I feel so much healthier.”

Collins concluded with compassion for others in similar positions, calling Mounjaro a “wonder drug” for people struggling with their weight.

Back in January, fans were wowed at the star’s weight loss after she posted an Instagram photo revealing the change.

Speaking about her transformation, Collins told her 2.2 million followers: “This has been life-changing for me. I feel healthier, I happier.”

The reality star expressed her excitement about the future, stating: “I’m really looking forward to this year, I may finally be able to wear a bikini again.”

She credited the medication for making a significant difference after trying “every diet my whole life” without success.

In an emotional revelation, Collins opened up about her past struggles with weight. “I’ve been bullied and tortured all my life for being overweight,” she shared.

“I feel like a massive weight’s been lifted off my shoulders,” Collins admitted. “Only if you’re overweight do you know the struggle, you know the downfalls.”
