ITV Coronation Street star Rebecca Ryan, 34, celebrates birth of second child with sweet photo

Coronation Street star Rebecca Ryan has announced the arrival of her second child with husband Dan Acraman, delighting fans with a sweet photo and the baby’s unique name.

The 34-year-old actress, best known for her role as Lydia Chambers on the long-running ITV soap, shared the happy news on Instagram, posting a heartwarming image of her newborn.

Alongside the photo she wrote: “Introducing the newest member of my little girl gang, the adorable Oriana.”

Ryan and Acraman, who welcomed their first daughter Aurora in May 2023, have now expanded their growing family with another little girl – a moment that has been met with joy from friends, family, and fans alike.

Fellow Coronation Street star Sally Carman commented: “She’s beautiful! Congratulations to you both.”

Emmerdale actress Charley Webb also shared her excitement, writing: “Another beauty and I loooove the name.”

Ryan’s younger brother and former Corrie co-star Jack James Ryan, 28, was among the first to celebrate the news.

“Proof that first time around wasn’t a fluke, you make the most beautiful babies,” he gushed.

He later reshared his sister’s post, adding: “That’s my best friend right there,” adding a touching photo of himself cuddling Oriana, with big sister Aurora snuggled beside him.

The proud uncle captioned the moment: “My girls.”

Back in January, Ryan had revealed she was expecting baby number two, posting a photo of herself cradling her bump with the lighthearted caption: “Sleeps overrated anyway… here comes baby no 2.”

The actress, who rose to fame as Debbie Gallagher in Channel 4’s Shameless, married British Airways pilot Dan Acraman in 2022 after their original wedding plans were postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sharing a black-and-white wedding photo at the time, she wrote: “Husband and Wife 24.09.22 – The best day of our lives!”

Ryan left Coronation Street in 2022 after a one-year stint, bidding an emotional farewell to fans.

“That’s Lydia over and out!! I have had the most amazing time on the cobbles and it’s an experience that I will never forget!!” she wrote.

“Thank you so much for all the lovely comments, I see them all and I appreciate every single one! Bye Lydia it’s been a blast.”

Looking ahead, the actress has expressed her interest in taking on a period drama or gritty television role.

Speaking to OK!, she shared: “I’d love to do a period piece, I’ve always wanted to do something like Downton Abbey, or Bridgerton… I also love all the big dramas, like Succession. I think I’ll go as far as to say it’s the best thing I’ve ever watched.”
