The Malone family have shared heartbreaking news as they mourn the loss of a cherished member of their household.

The beloved Gogglebox stars – mum Julie, dad Tom, and sons Tom Jr and Shaun – have been fan favourites on the Channel 4 series since 2014.

In a deeply emotional update, the family revealed that one of their much-loved dogs, Bob, passed away.

Next to a series of touching photos showing Bob through the years, Julie shared her grief, writing: “Today we said goodbye to our beautiful protective Bobby, he spent his last day doing what he loved, watching over the grandchildren playing in the garden. We are heartbroken. RIP our beautiful Big Bob.”

Tom Jr, who left Gogglebox in 2021, also paid tribute to the family’s loyal pet, saying: “Good boy Bob… Rest easy big man.”

Shaun added his own heartfelt message, writing: “Today is the day we had to say goodbye to big Bob, absolute great dog like a big cuddly bear.”

Messages of support and sympathy flooded in from fans and fellow Gogglebox cast members.

Ellie Warner commented: “So sorry to hear about Bobby. Run free over the rainbow bridge,” while her sister Izzy added: “Sending you all lots of love.”

One fan wrote: “I’m so sorry. It never gets easier. It’s so hard losing all the most beautiful little souls. They are children. You’ll meet again at the rainbow bridge.”

Another echoed the sentiment: “So sorry to hear of Bobby’s passing. Sending lots of love and hugs.”

This isn’t the first time the Malone family has experienced the heartbreak of losing a beloved pet.

In 2023, they said goodbye to Dave, their Rottweiler, who was a familiar face to viewers as he regularly appeared on the sofa alongside the family.

Earlier this year, in February, concerns were raised among fans when Tom Sr shared a photo of himself in hospital.

The image showed him wearing a gown, his arm in a sling and a large bandage covering what appeared to be a shoulder injury.

Despite the situation, Tom kept his spirits high, joking in the caption: “Woke up with a nappy as a dressing, was caught off guard when the nurse said she had to change my nappy!

“Grateful to our NHS, top notch care. Thank you, home now!”

The Gogglebox star did not confirm what he was in hospital for.
