GB News presenter Eamonn Holmes gave a candid health update on his Breakfast show, revealing he is now unable to perform basic daily tasks after becoming wheelchair-bound.
The 65-year-old broadcaster made the admission during a discussion about exercise and cancer prevention with co-host Ellie Costello and guest Tim Vincent.
Eamonn admitted: “This makes me feel awful, because I would have been pro-exercise, but I can’t move.
“I’m in a wheelchair now. I can’t put on the right trainers, I can’t change, I can’t go to the showers, I can’t do things… I can’t stand up.”
The host’s candid revelation comes amid ongoing health struggles that have significantly impacted his mobility and independence.
Eamonn expressed concern for others facing similar limitations, stating: “There are a lot of people who are incapable of exercising and therefore rightly so, we see their increase of cancer growing.”
Vincent acknowledged Eamonn’s situation, responding: “Absolutely, and that’s an issue that everybody’s going to face.
“And you’re obviously in a really difficult position. Any exercise I think is going to help, especially for these people that have had cancer once and can get out there.”

Eamonn then asked Vincent: “So you’re actually saying if you’re in redemption from cancer or whatever, you could keep it at bay by exercising?”
Vincent agreed, explaining: “It’s actually better than a pill, the results are actually better than a pill.
“It’s common sense, isn’t it? We were talking in the green room before to keep yourself fit as much as you can, or whatever you are allowed to do, it is a good idea.”
Highlighting the psychological benefits of exercise as well as physical, Ellie added: “I know we’re talking about cancer here and obviously the physical benefits, but it’s good for up here as well, for your mental health and your mind.”
The 65-year-old presenter has been dealing with a series health woes in recent months, including a recent hospital visit following a fall at home which required an ambulance for the star.
Eamonn required major spinal surgery in 2022 to address chronic back pain, caused by three slipped discs.
The GB News star has also undergone a double hip replacement and suffered damage to his sciatic nerve, which affected the movement of his right leg.
Over the past year, he has gained support from the use of a walking aid and wheelchair due to his declining mobility.
