Fans outraged as Donald Trump makes shocking remark about Taylor Swift’s looks

US President Donald Trump has sparked controversy with his latest remarks about pop star Taylor Swift on Truth Social.

The 78-year-old President wrote on Friday: “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?'”

The unprovoked comment about the 35-year-old singer’s appearance has drawn immediate criticism online, with fans rushing to Swift’s defence.

The post comes eight months after Trump’s initial all-caps declaration that he “HATES” the Grammy-winning artist.

Swift’s fans quickly responded to Trump’s comments on social media. One person wrote on X: “Has anyone noticed that literally no one gives a (obscenity) abt donald trump’s opinion on taylor swift?”

Another fan retorted: “Taylor’s breaking records, you’re breaking down. Stay pressed.”

Others questioned the president’s fixation on the singer, with one commenting: “why is this mf still hurting omg. teenage boy getting rejected by his crush behavior,” while another added: “he has talked more about taylor than america itself atp talk about obsession.”

The feud between Trump and Swift has been ongoing for several years.

In her 2020 Netflix documentary, Swift broke her political silence, supporting Tennessee Democratic hopeful Phil Bredesden, saying she “had to be on the right side of history”.

In November 2024, Swift endorsed Kamala Harris for president, less than two months after Trump’s initial “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT” Truth Social post.

At the time, Trump claimed he had never been a fan of the Grammy winner and suggested she would “probably pay a price for it in the marketplace”.

Trump’s attack on Swift wasn’t his only controversial post that day.

Just 40 minutes later, he turned his attention to Bruce Springsteen, who had criticised the US government while performing in Manchester.

“I see that Highly Overrated Bruce Springsteen goes to a Foreign Country to speak badly about the President of the United States,” Trump wrote, calling the singer a “dried out ‘prune’ of a rocker” with “atrophied” skin.

Springsteen had told his Manchester audience that America was “currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous administration”.

This isn’t the first time Trump has publicly mocked Swift.

During the Philadelphia Eagles’ White House visit last month, he referenced her attendance at the 2025 Super Bowl, saying: “How did that work out?”

Interestingly, despite Trump’s animosity toward Swift, his family appears to be fans.

His daughter Ivanka and granddaughter Arabella are reportedly “Swifties,” with the pair attending the Eras Tour in Miami.

Arabella even celebrated her 13th birthday with a Taylor Swift-themed party featuring a cake inspired by Swift’s “Black Space” music video.
