ITV BGT’s Teddy Magic missing from next semi-final line-up as mystery over child magician continues

Britain’s Got Talent has confirmed once again that eight-year-old Teddy Magic won’t be appearing in this weekend’s live show after he was scheduled to perform two weeks ago before there was a last-minute change to the schedule.

The young magician wowed judges in his audition and made it through to the live semi-finals, but during the April 26 show it seemed he needed to pull out of the line-up.

The shake-up to the schedule came during the first live show, with some of the acts who made it through performing in real-time to viewers at home and a live audience.

Hosts Ant and Dec initially told viewers that young Teddy wasn’t “ready” to take to the stage yet, with McPartlin explaining: “Teddy isn’t quite ready backstage yet, so we’re just going to chat to you judges.”

Donnelly added: “We’re going to have a little change of plan,” while his co-host went on to clarify: “Just while he gets himself ready and composed backstage.”

Judge Simon Cowell responded casually to the update, stating: “It’s fine, it’s fine. If he’s not ready, he’s not ready.”

The next update came from Donnelly, who told viewers: “[Teddy] won’t be performing tonight, but we hope to see him later on in the series.”

As some took to social media to express concern for the schoolboy, fans had speculated they’d see him back on screens this week due to Donnelly’s promise of a return.
