Joe Swash has shared a message with fans following his wife Stacey Solomon’s heartbreaking update last week about their beloved pet dog, Teddy.
Presenter Solomon, 35, shared recently how Teddy had undergone major surgery after a distressing health emergency, with the Sort Your Life Out host sharing another tearful update days later.
On Monday, following the pooch’s operation, the singer shared: “The vet was just like, ‘He’s had a burst disc, but all of his discs and all of his spine is not looking good at all.'”
She revealed that doctors described Teddy’s spine as “really worn” with all of his discs looking deteriorated, with the star initially fearing it might be meningitis or a tumour before an MRI scan revealed the true cause.
After bringing Teddy home, Solomon has dedicated herself to his care, adjusting her work schedule to be with him. She admitted: “I have moved my work to work from home and cancelled some things so that I can try and help him recover.”
While the celebrity couple haven’t shared any fresh updates since, Swash took to his Instagram on Thursday night, where he reposted his wife’s initial post about the huge scare alongside his own 11-word message to fans.
He simply penned: “Thank you all for your lovely messages about Teddy,” along with a heart emoji.
Fans will undoubtedly be hoping the family dog is recovering well, but Solomon has already revealed a clean bill of health looks increasingly unlikely.
She shared in her latest update: “There’s also a massive chance that he’s going to be disabled and unable to urinate for himself and involuntarily poos.”
Solomon continued by sharing the dog would need “a lot of physio and help for the rest of his life,” concluding: “This might be Teddy forever.”

However, Solomon’s own Instagram on Thursday was more upbeat, with Teddy’s current condition appearing a little more hopeful.
She wrote in one post: “While I’m home looking after Ted I’m going to get some bits done. First stop, veg patch gate.” Not long after, she shared another snap and wrote: “Done, I’m so happy.”
After a few more DIY updates, one post showed Teddy seemingly happy as he enjoyed being stroked by Solomon’s young son, Rex, in the sunshine.
Solomon wrote on the sweet clip: “The best big bro,” as the little dog gazed at Rex gratefully. While Teddy may still be in a concerning condition, the new posts suggest he is maintaining an upbeat attitude.
The frightening first post came when Solomon shared a snap on her Instagram page of the dog with a bandage on his arm as she lovingly kissed him.
She wrote: “Our darling Teddy. Teddy became suddenly unwell on Thursday. It turns out he has a predisposed condition we had no idea about as he was a rescue.
“He has been operated on by incredible vets and the next 3-4 days are crucial for him to get through, even then, he might not ever fully recover.
“We are praying and hoping so hard that he pulls through & that we can care for him in the best way we possibly can to give him the best life he can have. We are all truly devastated.
“He is the sweetest, most protective, loving dog. He’s our family. And far too young to be going through this.
“We love you Ted. So so much. Pickle cottage is far too quiet without you. I miss my toilet buddy. Peanut is so sad without his best friend.”
Solomon apologised in her next update for keeping worried fans waiting for an update, and is likely to provide a fresh assessment of the pooch’s condition soon.
A frequent social media user, Solomon often addresses her followers’ queries as well as sharing updates on her family of seven at Pickle Cottage.
