BBC The Apprentice viewers claim Lord Alan Sugar made ‘big error’ during latest firing as they disagree with axing

BBC The Apprentice viewers were left shocked and disagreeing with Lord Alan Sugar during a recent episode of the business series.

Tonight, the candidates were tasked with launching an environmentally conscious, sustainable fashion label, designing a collection and building a brand before holding a fashion show for buyers.

They were aided by Baroness Karren Brady and Tim Campbell, looking at their experimental style choices but for one team, friction began to shine through, whilst the other side’s safe designs failed to stand out.

Back in the boardroom, Lord Sugar delivered a severe dressing-down before Collins from the process due to a small mistake she had made.

Despite it being her first throughout the series, Sugar found he had to make the tough decision as the rest of the candidates made it one step closer to receiving his investment.

Whilst Sugar felt he had made the right decision, viewers at home were left fuming as one penned on their X account: “Weakest last five ever. Absolute lambs to the slaughter.”

Collins took to her Instagram account soon after the episode had aired to express her gratitude for being on the show and penned: “I got fired!

I thought everyone gets one mistake, and I just made mine at the wrong time. The final 5 is such a huge milestone to get to and I’m disappointed I didn’t reach it, but to come 6th is something I’ll always be proud of.

Definitely lost sight of a few things but don’t regret a thing over the past 10 weeks, I had a blast.”

She was also posting live on her Instagram story as the show played out, with one reading; “This is a tough watch I can’t lie. What was I thinking?”

Another read: “We tried to pitch it as unisex and were told we weren’t allowed.” (sic)

Collins also told Yahoo! News: “Even watching it now, I’m still surprised that I go. Given how I felt about how the process has been and what’s been shown.

“I’m really happy about how my contributions have been shown on TV and that’s come with a lot of lovely support.

Given how much lovely commentary I’ve seen about me, I think people probably would be quite surprised.

“You enter the process thinking you want to win it. For me, I’m a big believer that everything happens for a reason so maybe it’s a good thing that my business plan wasn’t scrutinised and I can leave with 10 weeks of good.

Obviously I haven’t had any commentary on my business plan, so I don’t know whether it was good or bad but I’m definitely gutted. I would have loved to have been in the final five.”
